Today we listened to a TED talk given my Julia Sweeney.  Sweeney is an actor, author and, most famously, a cast member of Saturday Night Live.  She has written and performed extensively on her relationship to the devine.  This is her third autobiographical monologue.  In Letting Go of God, she discusses her Catholic upbringing, early religious ideology, and the life events that eventually convinces her that the universe does not require a deity to preside over it.  In the end, she finally makes peace with becoming an atheist.

This is a lot funnier to watch on the TED talk than to read my description of it, so I’m just going to stop here and recommend you go view the thing on You-tube.
